Ability to include any/all Investment Transaction in Reports and the Spending Plan (edited)
I saw in an earlier thread that investment income is not included / can't be included in income for reporting and tracking purposes. This renders Simplifi pretty useless to me. As a retiree those numbers are an important part of my monthly income. [removed - no soliciting]
Re: Update next reminder amount for credit cards automatically using the account balance (edited)
We definitely need a feature that shows the credit card statement amount and due date in Bills & Payments. I 100% agree with those that say this should be automatic after connecting a credit card account. Why does the credit card company have to support some additional "Biller" service? They're already providing all the data. That being said, allowing us to specify the statement date and due date in order to let Simplifi know what balance to show for the bill is an acceptable workaround.
Please add Mercury Bank to financial institutions (edited)
Hello,
I would like to track my accounts in Mercury (mercury.com) in Simplifi. Could this financial institution please be added to the list?
Thank you in advance for your help with this.
Best regards,
Jeff Craven
Re: Splits Redesign: Share your feedback here!
From the comment above, I agree with the following:
"Now, when I select 'Split,' a new dialogue appears, displaying two blank Category rows. The new UI effectively removes any existing category that was on the Transaction Detail window, wasting multiple clicks as I am forced to find it again in the first category field."
Can we instead start the first split with the existing category of the overall transaction, like it used to be before the change?
I also agree with and will love to see it implemented.
"I also support showing the split category names in the Transactions view instead of just showing "—-Split—-", similar to how multiple Tags are currently displayed with a comma separation."
Make the Accounts List easier to read (edited)
I'm a new user and I find the Accounts column very hard to read.
- The lines are so close together and each section is differentiated by a "slightly" larger font. It's hard to tell each section apart or find the totals for each category (Cash, Credit, Assets etc)
- It's hard to read which balance applies to which account due to how close each line is.
- Having the banks icon next to the name would make it much easier to identify accounts quickly
Sorting appears to be alphabetical instead of by balance so I have accounts with $0 balance showing at the top making it harder to find the info for accounts that actually have a balance. Sort by balance and/or hide accounts with $0 balanceSavings, for some reason, isn't included under Cash so I have to manually add up what's in checking and savings to see how much cash I have. Total cash should be right under net worth as it's a critical metric for a personal finance app. "Banking" total (cash - credit debt) isn't helpful to me, I would rather see my total cash on hand (cash + checking + savings)Allow users to change the order of each group in the Accounts column. I want to move the Liabilities section higher up the list
Ability to Link multiple Transactions to a single Recurring Bill at one time (edited)
Currently when adding new accounts there is no way to add more than 1 transaction to an existing bill.
Cash Flow Graph should account for variable (Statement Balance) Credit Card payments each month
As a result, the Projected Cash Flow graph for my primary Checking account is totally wrong, because it doesn't account for the large credit card payment each month coming out of that account.
Is there a way to solve for this so this graph actually is meaningful?
I could add a recurring transfer each month for some fixed amount, but the amount would only be estimated, and wouldn't produce an accurate cashflow graph, that would warn me if my checking account was going to be too low and at risk of overdraft.
But Simplifi has all of my credit card expected recurring expenses, and planned spending items already in my Spending Plan, so it should be able to solve for this in an automated fashion, right?
Add a Dashboard widget that shows last month's vs current month's expenses for trends (edited)
I'm coming from Mint, and so far I think that Simplifi's weakest point is the Dashboard which is a big missed opportunity here, I hardly find useful some of the graphs/widgets so I have a few suggestions about this:
Why do we have two separate charts for Spending and Income? It reduces the usefulness as I can't directly compare both and takes more space for no reason. These two graphs can be combined in one Net Income chart that shows the comparison between both with trends, you can even offer a 6-month and a 12-month (double width) option. Why can't I just track my current month-to-date expenses anywhere in the dashboard? Just one number that tells me "$XXX.XX spent this month so far". I see that there's a number that today shows "From Thursday-Today" and I have no clue about what to do with that info. Why those dates? That doesn't give actionable or useful information at all.I want to be able to hide widgets, I don't find useful a few and I'd like to hide them.- We need a widget that shows me last month's vs current month's expenses in a trend day-to-day comparison so I can see if I'm spending faster or slower than last month.
I see that some of these ideas are kind of present in the Report section and that brings me to another idea that could cover all the above and more and it's to make the Dashboard customizable in a way that we can simply select widgets based on all the reports that you offer, that way I can literally make my own Home Dashboard including only the information I want to check every time I log in from the list of reports that you offer, that is a very nice list but that requires quite a few clicks to be checked frequently.
I'm rooting for Simplifi (and I already paid for a year) so I hope this suggestion can be taken into consideration, the first page that we all see when we enter the app is probably the most important UX aspect of a tool like this.

It would go nicely after Advanced in the Filters list: https://i.imgur.com/XcIYtC3.png
